The concept of time in DR

Hi everyone, welcome back to my channel. In this video, I want to talk to you about the concept of time in the Dominican Republic, and how it affects the daily life and the culture here. If you have ever been to the Dominican Republic, or if you have ever interacted with Dominicans, you may have noticed that they have a different perception of time than most people.

They are not very punctual, and they don’t seem to mind being late or making others wait. They have a relaxed and flexible attitude towards time, and they don’t stress about deadlines or schedules. This can be very frustrating and confusing for foreigners, especially for those who come from countries where time is more valued and respected.

For example, I am waiting for a meeting that was scheduled at 2 pm, and the man with whom I was going to meet wrote me at 2:05 pm that he was just on his way. Now, I don’t know if he will arrive in 10 minutes, or in an hour, or if he will show up at all. I have to decide whether to go and do other things with my life while this person arrives or wait for him and see if he really will arrive soon.

If you are interested in learning more about the Dominican Republic, or if you are planning to visit or live here, you don’t want to miss this video. It will help you understand the Dominican mindset, and it will make you appreciate the beauty and the diversity of this country. Thank you for watching, and don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe to my channel. See you in the next video. Bye!
